“ Authenticity is what I look for and this place had it! Long time Greek establishment on Griffin Rd. with more than plenty of Greek eats to choose from and service was top notch! Their homemade hummus is out of this world... Super yummy! ”
“ We stopped at My Big Fat Greek Restaurant on a Friday night for dinner with friends. Since we arrived early, there was no wait, but by the time we were leaving, there was a line. I'd recommend making a reservation if you're planning to go during peak hours. The restaurant has an older, cozy vibe, and there's a small bar area where you can grab a drink while waiting. I had the gyro plate, which was good but not something that I would say is great. It came with a small Greek salad and a Greek potato, which were nice additions, though I wish the portions were a bit larger. For a dedicated Greek restaurant, I expected the gyro to be more flavorful or memorable. My friend had the chicken souvlaki, and while they said it was good, it too wasn't outstanding. The service was friendly and efficient, which added to the experience. Overall, it seems like a solid spot to grab some Greek food, but it's not the kind of place that's going to wow you. I'd go back if I were in the area and in the mood for Greek food, but I probably wouldn't go too far out of my way to return if there were similar options around. ”
“ Great food & great service! Stopped in for lunch for the first time and had to leave a review our server Tania took such GREAT care of us - what GREAT SERVICE! We sat outside on the patio and it was such a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy our meal. For lunch we ordered the gyro plate and portion size was nice and big and delicious. The star of our lunch though was the grilled salmon it was one of the best grilled salmon dishes I've had it was perfectly cooked, so soft and juicy, and just so good. We ended our meal with a double espresso and their baklava (love baklava) and it was the perfect ending to our lunch. The baklava was big enough for three of us to share and delicious. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping by for lunch or dinner and ask for Tania she truly took great care of us! ”
“ Pretty good! Had the gyro wrap and it was delicious. Best fries I've had in a long time. Recommend coming during lunch hours. The homemade hummus is one to try, truly amazing. Customer services was great, the waitress was very knowledgeable. The decor is very cool, makes you feel like you're in a restaurant in Greece. The only negative thing I would say is that I was not a fan of their coffee, it's very bitter. Over all I would come back! ”
“ The food here was amazing! You get bread and hummus for the table to start and the hummus was so good I could have eaten the whole plate myself! I ordered the platter with chicken. I was pretty hungry so i ordered the extra meat and definitely did not need to. The one skewer has a lot on it. The salad tasted really fresh too. We were greeted immediately and all the staff took such good care of us! Our server answered all the questions we had and made some good suggestions too. There is outside seating that is on a little water way so that's nice if the weather isn't too hot! This is such a gem of a restaurant! ”
“ Atmosphere is good. Service was good too. It came with white bean hummus and bread. Bread was delicious and white bean hummus was good. I crave it sometimes when I am not in the area. I ordered Chicken Skewer and it was delicious. It came with rice, peas, potatoes, and vegetables. I did not eat the peas (my dad likes them). The rice was plentiful and well flavored. Potatoes was more like potato as they just gave one wedge. Chicken was well cooked and came with 6 cubes, which is not a lot. I did not eat the vegetables except for onions, which were good. Wish the portions were a bit larger. I feel like they used it give food a few years ago. However, the quality and flavor of each food was still the same. 4 stars ”
“ It's been several visits here and for whatever reason I never wrote a review here because I always knew we'd be back. My Big Fat Greek Restaurant is literally 5 minutes from my home. It's constantly great every visit. Definitely authentic food and excellent service with a staff that always has a great personality. Tonight we were fortunate to have Amy serve us. She is spunky and personable and timed our dishes perfectly. We started out sharing the Greek Salad for 4 of us. We always order it with chopped lettuce. Never miss a start of a meal here without it. Everyone that we take here always comments how great it is. I love lamb and there are so many options to ordering it. Lamb shank, Lamb chops and their Gyros which I love I usually order every time. Until I discovered their Roast Chicken Ladoregano. Not fried but roasted leaving a delicious seasoned crispy skin. Served with both white and dark meat pieces. All the dishes are served with delicious lemon potatoes and peas. The potatoes are fantastic. I recommend their Lemon Soup which we have ordered several times. The lamb chops are delicious which many people talk about when going to a Greek Restaurant and theirs does not disappoint. There is a reason that this place has been open for do many years. Friday through Sunday they have live Greek folk music with beautiful dancers. If you are into belly dancing, don't miss them. I am very happy the restaurant is so close. We usually have no problem going in without a reservation but definitely would call before. Parking lot is always easy. ”
“ We've noticed My Big Fat Greek Restaurant on Sheridan Street for years and we finally stopped in for dinner on a weekend one day recently. One of the restaurant hosts greeted us warmly when we got there and took our name for the list and it was a 15 minute for our table of 2. We were seated inside as the patio was closed due to rain and an employee came by to greet us shortly thereafter and dropped off some complimentary bread and hummus to start. Our server Alex came by a few minutes later to welcome us and answered any questions we had on the menu. We started with a bottle of house wine for $33 (wine prices weren't up to date and accurate on the menu), and got the Flaming Saganaki ($14) and My Big Fat Greek Salad ($14). The wine was good and the starters were also really good and fresh! For entrees they all range mostly between $22-30. I ordered the Pork Chop and my husband ordered the chicken ($24). Entrees do take time to come out when busy, but be patient as everything is very fresh and everything we ordered was really good quality and portions are large so we were too full for dessert. We really loved our dining experience and look forward to returning! ”
“ Excellent Greek food in a casual setting with friendly service. This restaurant has been in the area for a long time and it has now become one of our favorite local places to go for good food at a reasonable price. They have both, inside and outside seating, and have a lunch menu that offers a nice selection of Greek specialties. In addition to standard items on their lunch menu, they always have a few special, like Mahi-Mahi platter or Mussels. If you are in the area, definitely give it a try. Cheers! ”
“ This great little local Greek restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. we left the casino and just over a mile away from the Hard Rock. Found on Yelp, and I'm so glad I looked up a place that fit what our groups need. A couple of plates of hummus were brought on the house to the table. We then ordered flaming saganaki (cheese) and spanakopita (spinach pie). We then went with our main course . Lamb chops and greek salad, and shrimp kabob. All was excellent! The lamb was cooled a little on the medium side but recommended that way. we finished off with a delicious piece of baklava! So sweet and perfect! ”
